Lynne Guthrie is the founder and research director at Caledonia Market Research (formerly Caledonia Marketing Solutions). Lynne also brings on board the expertise of specialist research associates as required for larger projects.
Prior to setting up her market research company in 2002, Lynne worked in academic and professional publishing for nine years after completing a degree in languages at Edinburgh University. During her years in publishing, she held a number of posts covering both UK and international markets including continental Europe, the Middle East, India, the Far East and the Caribbean.
Lynne’s passion for market research grew after completing a Post Graduate Diploma in marketing, with market research as the specialist topic and a one year research project in industry (exploring the potential for luxury yarn in southern Europe).

Combined with her postgraduate studies and industry experience, Lynne could see the benefits of market evidence and customer insight in giving companies a strong competitive advantage. So she decided to set up a small specialist, independent research company where a thorough market knowledge together with strong research expertise and a professional but personal service, could make a real difference to clients.
